Research Funding Sources for Public Health Sciences

The most effective way for SPHCM faculty to stay "on top" of research opportunities relevant to their own interests is to create personalized searches of grant opportunities. There are several free 'search engines' that will do weekly searches by keyword/topic area, then automatically send you an e-mail link of the results each week. Below are several such sites:

  • Community of Science
This site allows you to search more than 20,500 grants and awards, and is updated daily. You can sign up to receive weekly email alerts.
  • NIH Guide
Researchers can subscribe to the NIH Notification LISTSERV service to receive the NIH Guide Table of Contents Notification LISTSERV service, and then using the embedded URLs to access Guide articles.
  • GrantsNet
This resource searches for funds for training in the biomedical sciences and undergraduate science education. This is a free service supported by HHMI and AAAS.
  • The UW Funding Bulletin
This UW search engine provides a wealth of information on research funding opportunities, as well as links to other search engines and research funding sources.
  • University Libraries
This site has many useful direct links to a variety of funding sources.
  • Human Subjects
Information on policies governing research featuring human subjects.
